主讲人简介：Professor Jia-Qian Jiang Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental management Glasgow Caledonian University Scotland, U.K. Professor Jia-Qian Jiang is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. He has a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering and has the expertise of research and teaching in the field of water and environmental science and engineering. His main research interests are
development and use of water treatment chemicals (e.g., adsorbent, coagulant, disinfectant, and oxidant),
design and optimisation of water treatment unit processes (e.g., coagulation, filtration),
nutrients recovery from wastewater (e.g. phosphorus recovery), and
degradation of emerging micro pollutants in aquatic environment.
His research activities, with full collaboration at national and international level, are funded by the Research Council UK (e.g., EPSRC), EU Research Council, UK/Scottish/international industries (e.g., Thames Water, Southern Water, Borax Europe Ltd, Lake Constance Water Supply and Scottish Water), UK KTP Scheme, British Council and other overseas funding organisations. Prof Jiang’s researches have produced more than 170 publications, which have high impact to the scientific community with h index of 38 from both Web of ScienceCitation Report and Elsevier Scopus Citation Overview and 42 from Google Scholar Citations.
As a principal supervisor, Prof Jiang has supervised 14 doctoral students and 6 post-doc researchers and numerous dissertations of MSc’s and final year undergraduates to completion of their degrees. He has also developed new teaching syllabus and delivered teachings in the subject of water and wastewater treatment technology and engineering, environmental and water chemistry and the chemical engineering related.
Prof Jiang is highly active in scientific communities. He is a member of Peer Review College and Assessment Panel of the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) UK; a research assessor of The Carnage Trust Scotland; an invited research proposals’ referee for International Funding Organizations, including ▪ The European Union Res. Council; ▪The UK EPSRC/NESRC; ▪The UK Royal Society; ▪Natural Sci. Eng. Res. Council of Canada; ▪Academy of Finland; ▪Innovation and Technology Commission of the Gov. Hong Kong; ▪Canada Foundation for Innovation; US-Israel Binational Sci. Foundation. He is also a member of The Programme Committee, Sessions’ Chair and International Advisory Board, and a plenary/keynote speakers at various international conferences and research seminars. Additionally, Prof Jiang is a member of editorial board of J. China Water and Wastewater (ISSN: 1000-4602), J Water-Energy Nexus (ISSN: 2588-9125) and Biointerface. Res. Appl. Chem. (ISSN: 2069-5837); an associate editor of Global NEST J., (ISSN: 1108-4006) and an invited referee of more than 30 top journals in Water Sci/Eng. areas, including Environ. Sci. Technol.; Water Res.
