主讲人：Prof.Mara Adelman
主讲人简介：Dr. Mara Adelman is an emeritus professor in the Dept. of Communication at Seattle University.Trained in network analysis, Dr. Adelman specializes in the role of personal and social networks in our lives; including social support, cross-cultural adaptation, community formation and mate-seeking.Formerly, she coached public speaking at UCLA, taught at Northwestern University, and has spent over 14 years working and traveling around the world.
In addition to numerous articles, commentaries, and book chapters, she is author of Beyond Language: Cross-cultural Communication for ESL; The Fragile Community: Living with AIDS; and Communicating Social Support.Recently, she has focused on the role of solitude, distraction and mindfulness for human communication and personal well-being.She is an artist and musician, and she has a great passion for understanding world cultures.
